1) How do I power/turn on my laptop?

All school issued laptops' power button is generally located on the left side of the device. Push the power button for at least 3-5 seconds and it will power on.

2) My laptop froze and cannot/unable to do anything. What do I do now?

Most software related problems can be fixed by shutting down and restarting the laptop. If possible, restart Windows through normal procedure (Start buton>restart) but if not, a hard restart is required. Press down the Power button until screen goes blank (usually around 5 - 10 seconds) and release it when it does. The laptop should restart normally.

3) The screen only shows big icons and the task bar at the bottom of the screen with the different icons is missing.

Most likely you might have entered the tablet mode of the laptop. To go back to the normal Windows desktop, go to the lower right part of the screen and click/push the box icon with the pointed bottom. Click the highlighted tablet mode button to restore normal Windows desktop.
