About ICS

ICSFrom 1884 to 1898 the Sisters of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio maintained this school, holding classes on the main floor of the building and living in the top two stories.

In 1900 the sisters of the Blessed Sacrament of Brownsville were sent to continue the school. 

In 1920 the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament were withdrawn, and the Sisters of Mercy arrived in 1923 to take charge of the school.

It was in 1945 that the north wing of the school, consisting of three rooms was added.

In 1951 a kindergarten was added and lay teachers were hired to augment the faculty.

Presently, Immaculate Conception School is  serving students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.
